Bala is a 2019 Hindi language film directed by Amar Kaushik. It stars Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role of Balmukund Shukla (Bala), a young man suffering from early male pattern baldness, and Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar in supporting roles.

The story invokes questions about how beauty is perceived in certain societies and how it contributes towards marriages in said societies.

 

The film was written by Niren Bhatt, co-written by Ravi Muppa, produced by Dinesh Vijan, and cinematography by Anuj Rakesh Dhawan. It went on to be nominated for Filmfare Awards, Screen Awards, Awards of the International Film Academy across the best actor, best supporting actress categories.

The film was showcased in the Indo-German Film week 2020 in Berlin on 27 September 2020.
