URI is a Hindi language film directed by Aditya Dhar which grossed at $49 million dollars worldwide, making it one of the highest grossing Indian films ever. It is based on true events.

It stars Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Mohit Raina and Kirti Kulhari.

It is about Major Vihaan Singh Shergill of the Indian Army who leads a covert operation against a group of militants who attacked a base in Uri, Kashmir, in 2016 and killed many soldiers.

 

Aditya Dhar has written and directed the film which was produced by Ronnie Screwvala and cinematography by Mitesh Mirchandani.

The film has won many accolades across categories and genres such as the National Film Awards, Screen Awards, Filmfare Awards and the IIFA Awards.
